According to Jimmy Hyams, there is not expected to be a press conference on Sunday or later in the week regarding the status of Butch Jones at Tennessee.

While many believe Jones will not survive this season, another source told me Jones will coach the Southern Miss game Saturday.

At 3-5 and a game against Southern Miss on this docket, it appears as though Jones may get an opportunity to continue with his team’s bowl eligibility on the line over the remaining four games.
This falls in line with the reporting from SEC Country’s Mike Griffith, who reported that Jones said he “absolutely” expects to have continued support from Vols AD John Currie.

Tennessee and Ohio State are the only programs in FBS history to avoid an eight-loss season. Jones would have to win two of his last four games with the Vols to avoid that fate this season.
This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
