Clay Travis drops Alabama in poll for interesting reason, considers Georgia to be better
Clay Travis has an interesting top 2 in his latest top 10.
On Saturday night, the Outkick The Coverage analyst dropped his latest rankings and included Alabama and Georgia on top. But he placed Georgia at No. 1 and Alabama at No. 2.
Check out his explanation below:
1. Georgia
Why is Georgia number one? Simple — their resume is better than Alabama’s. The Bulldogs have a road win over Outkick’s number three team in the nation and they’ve won every other game by twenty or more points.
At this point in time it would be surprising if Georgia isn’t 12-0 in Atlanta.
And it would also be surprising if 12-1 Georgia, even with a loss to Alabama in Atlanta, didn’t make the playoff.
2. Alabama
The Crimson Tide might well have the best team in college football, but let’s be honest, what’s the Tide’s best win this season?
Texas A&M?
The Tide still have LSU, at Mississippi State and at Auburn left on the schedule so things will toughen up, but for now I’m dropping them to number two because Georgia’s resume is more impressive.
All this is debatable. And of course, Georgia and Alabama will have a chance to settle the argument on the field if the teams meet in the SEC Championship Game in December. That’s looking more likely by the week.
Georgia (8-0) and Alabama (8-0) have looked impressive throughout the fall. And if both are undefeated going into the SEC title game, it would be hard to keep them out of the College Football Playoff.
