WATCH: Gene Stallings amazingly returns to Texas A&M after serious heart attack: ‘Just a little setback’

Gene Stallings was determined to attend the Alabama-Texas A&M game.

On Friday, WBRC FOX 6 News’ Christina Chambers relayed incredible video that showed the former Alabama and Texas A&M coach speaking about his recovery, a week after suffering a serious heart attack. Stallings, who coached the Aggies from 1965 to 1971 and the Crimson Tide from 1990 to 1996, was in College Station before Alabama and Texas A&M kicked off on Saturday night at Kyle Field.

“In a couple of months, I’ve had two strokes and a heart attack,” Stallings said in the clip below. “But something tells me I’ve got to keep going on. Anyway, just a little setback. I’m doing OK, to tell you the truth.”

This is a great sight to see.

Stallings, 82, told WBRC FOX 6 News’ Rick Karle on Thursday that he hoped to make it to College Station after recovering in a Dallas-area hospital. As part of the weekend, Texas A&M is honoring Stallings’ 1967 team that beat Alabama in the Cotton Bowl.
