Danny Kanell leaves Alabama out of his College Football Playoff projection

Danny Kanell has been known as an SEC hater. But he may have dropped his spiciest takes yet on Sunday morning.

Kanell dropped his top 8, and rather shockingly, had Alabama buried down at No. 5. His top 4 is Georgia, Notre Dame, Clemson and Oklahoma, with the Crimson Tide coming in at No. 5.

One could make an argument in saying that Alabama’s resume doesn’t stack up to those top four, given that their best win to date is Texas A&M. But the Crimson Tide are also haven’t lost, while Notre Dame, Clemson and Oklahoma all have.

At least there’s one analyst out there willing to call out Kanell for his garbage take.

As long as Alabama keeps winning, the Crimson Tide will be fine and make the College Football Playoff. And as for Kanell this is all good for his own personal brand.

The Crimson Tide were off this week, and take on LSU this coming Saturday.
