Jim McElwain mum about future status of suspended players
Two days after finding out that his nine suspended players could face a combined 62 third-degree felonies for alleged credit card fraud, Florida coach Jim McElwain addressed the media on Wednesday and gave his insight on the situation at hand. In summary:
“Obviously, as you all know and you’ve been at it a long time, this is a long legal piece still to go. And then once the legal piece is done, then the university piece,” he said. “So, obviously disappointed, as we were from the get-go. And yet, there’s still a lot to be found out. I think you’ve just got to let it, from a legal standpoint, play out. And then, obviously, from there, the university standpoint. Then we’ll deal with it at that time.”
